I agree, Broken Fingers is an appropriate title, and although I haven't gone through the physical pains of writing (fortunately), I feel like I have gone through them metaphorically. At the 1997 San Diego Comic-con, R. A. Salvatore (my favorite author) spoke these words about writing: If you can stop, then stop. If you can't, then you're a writer. In my years of writing and failing to get published, I've found that these words are very true. Every time I thought I'd just give it up, I found myself wanting to create through the written word. Why do we put ourselves through such torture? What insanity drives us to our desks every morning for another session of abuse?
