In recent months, I started attending Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan, in an effort to finally get the college degree I’ve been lacking all these years. The focus of my education is now in cinema studies, with a focus on writing, and hopefully I will be able to graduate and put my skills and degree to some use in the future.
In the mean time, I’m left to my own devices, which includes coming up with my own story ideas and expressing them as I see fit.
While I don’t have any particularly new idea at the moment, I think I’ve found a place to spend a few hours twice a week to work on some of my existing ideas. Simple and as obvious as it sounds, that place is the OU library.
Before today, I had never set foot into the library, but I had decided a few weeks ago to do so, if for no other reason than I could say to myself that I had. And so today, after my class let out a little while ago (early), I made up my mind to come in here and see what it’s like. And frankly, aside from some odd smell that might be furniture polish, I really like the place. It also reminds me of a time long ago, when my best friend and I would go hang out and do our creative arts at the Wayne State University Student Center. Not that that place was as quiet as the OU Library, but it had a similar sort of feel, and I think I can grab some of the vibe off this place much as I had then.
